It was faster than a large painting and very interesting to do it.
This is more spontaneous and a good practice to paint faster later
on a large size canvas.
Thanks a lot Sorella  :rose:

Dear Daniel, you are so talented in bringing it all back to what it's about. I admire your talent so much. Those few touches of light, the persons in the painting, the trees, and buildings. It's perfect to me. And Claire made a wonderful picture for reference :-) :rose:

Yes the beautiful photo of Claire inspired me a lot.
It's very important to me to be able to paint in few minutes
the reality with a sketch... not too real, but precise, even if we don't
know what it is in first, our brain can say "this spot is a man or an architecture"
and it works, the spots have to be in the good place. (But it's not always easy
to me, sometimes i see nothing haha :D even with my glasses :D)
It's what i learnt when i was a young art student, we made a lot
of fast sketches everydays. At the end we've done sketches in few seconds.
I always love to practice it, but i am not as fast as before.
Ik bedank je wel mijn lieve Dutch zuster voor uw reactie (yes it's without google, i speak dutch now :))
How are you, do you paint today or rest with Theo ?
Have a good sunday :sun:  :rose:

It's interesting how watercolors teach you that less is more, and acrylics teach you that more is more.

The sketch is very important :)
I made a joke when i said "a little sketch", it's really a little size, but it's also the root
of the futur large size painting.
The sketch have to good with the light and shades to be able to see all effects very fastly and understand
what happen in the contrast (the drawing is secondary). It's a good practice to be more free on the large
size painting later.
Thanks a lot dear crazy Jas  :rose:

It's exactly what i try to do, i want to paint the life of all days, simple views of people on the street,
with cars... the lifestyle in our societies. To capture the movement, i practice fast sketches for a long time,
it's very important :) I began when i was a young art student in 1979, i learnt a lot in the art school
during 6 years (1979/1985).
Thanks a lot for your comment.

That's a really great approach to art, i feel you are capturing current lifestyles around the globe. :) probably won't be that long before things look really different... i didn't realize the 90's had a "look" until seeing some images of everyday people on the street back then. :XD:

i really should practice fast sketching then, seems like a fast way to improve one's art. Thank you for the tip. :D

You can see the differents lifestyle during the years on my gallery.
At the begenning, i've painted with gouache views from 80,s
and from 90,s... Yes there is a big difference of the current lifestyles today and maybe
people will smile when they will see how we were in 2012 :D
There is a big difference with cars, all over the world....
It's why i love to paint or draw what's happen in our modern societies, it's like
a testimony.
Practice fast sketches is good to paint faster and better on large size canvas later.

It took me almost half an hour, less half an hour for this sketch, i
will try to do it in a quater hour. The secret to paint fast it to practice
very fast sketches, after on the large size canvas your hand is more free.
Thank you very much Henna for your nice words  :rose:
